The Blue Velvet Lounge is located in Patchogue, NY, as part of The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center. The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center offers various classes, including animation and documentary classes.
The animation classes are designed to help students become one-artist animation studios, where they can learn the fundamentals of animation, create and design characters, and craft ideas into cohesive stories.
The documentary classes teach students how to research compelling stories, use a camera, write and record narration, and edit elements of the story together. At the end of each session, there is a screening party where friends and family can view the completed films.
The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center also offers memberships, which provide perks such as discounted tickets, free admission on birthdays, and reduced admission to other theaters. Memberships support the theater's programming and operations.
